“Y’all asked us to kiss”: LiAngelo Ball’s girlfriend Rashida Nicole slams media’s “petty” tactics at BET Awards

LiAngelo Ball and his girlfriend, Rashida Nicole, hit the BET Awards red carpet together on Sunday. While posing for pictures, a reporter asked Ball to kiss Nicole. However, Ball wasn’t willing to engage in any PDA and walked away from the spot. A clip of this interaction was shared on Instagram by The Shade Room, and Rashida Nicole is not happy about it.

The Shade Room shared the clip with the caption:

“No kisses for bae?! 😩 #Gelo hit the carpet #BETAwards carpet with his boo #RashidaNicole and kept is reallll PG.”

Rashida Nicole took offense to the Shade Room’s tactics and slammed them in the post’s comment section.

“Yall always be on petty ish! We did soo much other stuff in that interview and Halle ant to clip this… but that’s what I expect from the @theshaderoom,” Nicole wrote.

“Yall asked us to kiss of all things on red carpet, randomly! I know my man he ain’t doing that ish! Save all the negativity & weird ish!”

Before kicking off his relationship with Nicole, LiAngelo Ball had been with Nikki Mudarris for almost three years. The pair shares two children. However, in February, Mudarris accused Ball of stepping out on her. Not long after, Ball went public with his new girlfriend, Rashida Nicole.

Former Charlotte Hornets guard LiAngelo Ball has found his calling in music. He has made strides in the industry since releasing his viral single, Tweaker, earlier this year. Ball took the stage to perform his hit track during the BET Awards’ pre-show.

This was a special performance for the Ball brothers, as LiAngelo brought out the oldest of the three, Lonzo Ball. The brothers performed Tweaker and delivered an electric performance.

For the longest time, LiAngelo Ball tried to make it into the NBA and play alongside his brothers, LaMelo and Lonzo. Unfortunately, despite his repeated attempts, he fell short of his goal and left the league without ever playing in an official game. Fortunately, he has managed to find a path for himself after releasing one of the hottest hip-hop tracks of 2025.
