“Lookin’ game ready”: Michael Jordan’s son Marcus Jordan gives Luka Doncic shoutout for repping his upscale boutique

Marcus Jordan, the polarizing son of NBA icon Michael Jordan, gave a nod to Lakers star Luka Doncic for rocking apparel from his Trophy Room boutique.

An Instagram fan account for Kevin Durant, @DURANT, shared a highlight reel of Doncic during his first offseason with the Lakers, noting his noticeably slimmer physique. Among the photos, Doncic was seen wearing an Air Jordan x Trophy Room tee featuring a small rectangular graphic of Michael Jordan on the front.

The image made its way to Marcus Jordan, who acknowledged Doncic for sporting his brand, which is described as “an elevated retail boutique, inspired by the trophy room within the Jordan family residence.”

“(Luka Doncic) lookin’ game ready in @TrophyRoomStore,” Marcus wrote in his Instagram Stories.

Doncic, a flagship Jordan Brand athlete, signed with the company on Dec. 12, 2019, becoming its first European-born signature player.

He’s central to Jordan Brand’s basketball portfolio, headlining a line that includes the Luka 4 and Luka .77 sneakers, along with co-branded apparel.

In August 2023, Jordan Brand extended its partnership with Doncic through 2029, solidifying his role with the company.

NFL star says Jordan Brand scored big with Luka Doncic’s move to LA

When Luka Doncic was unexpectedly traded in February from the Dallas Mavericks to the LA Lakers in a blockbuster deal for Anthony Davis, it sent shockwaves across the league.

While debate continues over which team came out on top, LA Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua believes Jordan Brand was one of the biggest winners. Nacua, who also reps Jordan Brand in the NFL alongside Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts, sees major marketing potential in Doncic’s move.

“He’s a global superstar,” Nacua told Sportico. “(Luka) coming from a different country and now coming to one of the biggest markets in world (with) one of the best organizations in the NBA — that’s big-time for Jordan Brand.

“He’ll bring new eyes and new fans. He’s a whole new personality in LA, and that’s a huge thing.”

As Doncic becomes extension-eligible this offseason, his future with the Lakers is one of the major storylines for a team looking to rebound after a first-round playoff exit.
