“I’ve never lost a 1v1 game”: Carmelo Anthony flexes his 1-on-1 prowess in fiery response to Michael Beasley’s challenge

Since Michael Beasley defeated Lance Stephenson in a 1-on-1 challenge, there has been a demand for more professional players to participate in the competition. Given it was 1-on-1 challenge, it was only a matter of time before Melo’s name would come up.

Anthony addressed the 1-on-1 competition on his “7PM in Brooklyn” podcast and agreed that more and more players should participate in the challenge. However, when co-host Kazeem Famuyide said that he wanted Melo to participate in the game, the NBA legend revealed that he had never lost a 1-on-1 game in his life.

"I'm not losing a 1v1 game, bro. I've never lost a 1v1 game," Carmelo Anthony said. "I'm not saying I’m going out there playing. What I’m saying is I got ridiculed for doing this sh** at the highest level..."

Carmelo Anthony warns Knicks against going for Giannis Antetokounmpo

The New York Knicks made a quick decision after the team was eliminated in the Conference finals by the Indiana Pacers. There are expectations that the Knicks could target Giannis Antetokounmpo in free agency.

However, Carmelo Anthony is already warning his former team against going for the Milwaukee Bucks star. On the same podcast show, Melo said it was a bad idea to pair Jalen Brunson and Antetokounmpo.

"Jason Kidd understands what those types of guards need," Anthony said. "He understood when [he] had Luka [Doncic] and JB together, this is what they both needed. They both needed each other…

"Who is that spot going to? That’s not Giannis, that’s not whoever else. That’s not that. Now, if you’re going to clear space to go get Giannis, do it. Go big or go home, I’m cool with that," he added.

Anthony continued the Knicks would have to rebuild if they traded for the "Greek Freak":

"But just know what we’re getting. Do you like Giannis and JB together, or do you like JB and KAT [Karl Anthony Towns] together?

“They might not keep Mitchell Robinson… But now you’ve got to start saying what’s best for us if Giannis is coming… This is the package that we got to give up for Giannis. And now we’ve got to go build a whole other type of team, right? Unless you keep Giannis and KAT," he concluded.
