“It allowed me to escape everyday life” – Stefanos Tsitsipas opens up about his & girlfriend Paula Badosa’s much-needed Ibiza trip

Stefanos Tsitsipas shared his experience vacationing with his girlfriend Paula Badosa in Ibiza, following his French Open campaign. The Greek player will next be in action at the Terra Wortmann Open, his first tournament under new coach Goran Ivanisevic.

Tsitsipas and Badosa’s romance sparked in 2023 after the former slid into her DMs to congratulate her on her monumental win at the Italian Open. They confirmed their relationship in May that year and are often seen cheering on each other in major tournaments and exhibition events, besides showing support on social media.

Being each other’s pillars in professional life, the couple frequently jets off on vacations. After their French Open stints, they flew to Ibiza to explore the island and try different things, as the Greek player already has a penchant for travel and a desire to know different countries and their cultures.

Sharing his experience with the Tennis Channel, he said:

"We had a great time exploring the island. I tried pretty much everything the island has to offer, from the peaceful countryside to the livelier spots. My holiday was very varied, which I am very grateful for, as it allowed me to escape everyday life and maybe even relax properly before the grass season starts again," he said.

Tsitsipas parted with his father as coach last year and struggled to find consistency. After the 2025 French Open, he announced joining hands with Goran Ivanisevic, who previously coached Djokovic.

Stefanos Tsitsipas landed in Germany for the Halle Open in North Rhine-Westphalia and couldn't be more excited about two things: sparkling water and Apfelschorle, a German drink combining apple juice. However, the German fans top his list, and he called them the most 'passionate' he had ever seen.

"I think Germany has the most fanatical tennis fans. I say that because I see them waiting outside the hotel. I've been watching them for many years, since my first year here, and I can say with great certainty that they are the most passionate tennis fans I've ever seen."

Stefanos Tsitsipas peaked at No. 3 in the ATP rankings, becoming the highest-ranked tennis player in German history. He amassed 12 ATP Tour singles titles and made two doubles finals at the 2023 Australian Open and 2021 French Open.

In 2019, the 26-year-old was named the Greek Athlete of the Year after reaching World No. 5.
