“Get the parade ready for the Lakers” – NBA analyst drops bombshell over $251,019,650 star potentially teaming with Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic could be getting a new teammate this offseason, with an NBA analyst making a bold prediction about the LA Lakers. Fox Sports’ Jason McIntyre believes that the Lakers are championship favorites if they add three-time All-Star Bradley Beal to their roster.

Speaking on “The Herd,” McIntyre was pumped that the Phoenix Suns are set to part ways with Beal soon. He believes the Lakers are going after him and will make the purple and gold a championship-caliber team. He even predicted a parade in Hollywood at the end of next season.

“When the Suns get rid of Bradley Beal, the Lakers can get him for $5 million,” McIntyre said. “Bradley Beal is the missing piece. You can just go ahead and get the parade ready for the Lakers if they get Bradley Beal.”

Bradley Beal is reportedly leaning towards negotiating a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns. Beal is currently in the fourth year of a five-year, $251,019,650 contract. He's set to earn $53.7 million next season, with a $57.1 million player option for the 2027-28 season.

That's a lot of money on the table for Beal, who will undoubtedly negotiate a buyout that would favor him. One route he can take is what Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks did last month. They stretched his remaining contract as Lillard recovers from a torn Achilles tendon.

The LA Lakers haven't been busy this offseason, but they have focused on rebuilding around Luka Doncic over LeBron James. Doncic already got his center pairing in Deandre Ayton, and adding Beal would give him another weapon.

According to The Athletic, Beal is not just being monitored by the LA Lakers. The LA Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors and Milwaukee Bucks are also interested in his services.

Starting on Aug. 4, Luka Doncic is eligible to sign an extension with the LA Lakers. ESPN's Brian Windhorst revealed that the Lakers are feeling "a little bit stressed" by the situation, but they are going to offer Doncic a four-year, $$229 million contract extension.

"This is a stress max right now for Luka," Windhorst said on NBA Today. "The Lakers are a little bit stressed out about it. If he signs it, relief for the Lakers. … If he does not sign it, he can be a free agent next summer when there are going to be 10-plus teams with cap space."

The Lakers are saving money as much as possible ahead of the 2027 free agency when players like Nikola Jokic could be available.
