“Never thought I’d be a math problem”: Kevin Love wastes no time responding after shocking trade

The Miami Heat sent Kevin Love to the Utah Jazz in a three-team trade, with the LA Clippers also involved. Stunned by the news on Monday, the veteran power forward dropped his reaction on X.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Heat received Norman Powell from the Clippers. The Jazz got Love, Kyle Anderson and a 2027 Clippers second-round pick, while the Clippers received John Collins.

Love played his third season with Miami in 2024-25. He was traded to the Heat from the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2022-23 season. This will be the third time that he will be moved in his 17-year NBA career.

In three years with Miami, Love averaged 7.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. He shot 35.7%, including 35.8% from beyond the arc.

LeBron James’ friend makes a bold prediction about Kevin Love’s future

It's usually not a good feeling for NBA players when they get traded. This was the second time that Kevin Love was dealt in his career without him seeking a trade. At the twilight of his career, the veteran retiring in a Utah Jazz jersey is doubtful.

The Jazz are rebuilding, and according to LeBron James’ friend, Cuffs The Legend, Love could reunite with his former superstar teammate in Los Angeles. After Monday's trade was announced, Cuffs The Legend posted on X, predicting that Love would join the LA Lakers.

“Kevin Love welcome to the Lakers,” Cuffs the Legend tweeted.

Love and James had a successful pairing in Cleveland after he joined the team in the 2014-15 season. Along with James, Kyrie Irving, the Cavs reached the NBA Finals three consecutive years, and another season after Irving left for the Boston Celtics. Love played a key role when the Cleveland won the title in 2015-16, defeating the 73-9 Golden State Warriors.

This is not the first time that Love has been rumored to join James in Los Angeles. Last season, when the Lakers were in search of 3-point shooters, there were speculations that Love would reunite with his former teammate. Love will be in the last year of his expiring $4 million contract next season.
