Kevin Durant played for the Dubs from 2016 to 2019, leading the team to two championships.

Fans have since speculated that Durant will not win a title without Steph Curry. His journey to prove he can win has seen him try and fail with the Brooklyn Nets and the Suns. With his eyes primed for another championship push, he is being linked with a move to the San Antonio Spurs, the Houston Rockets and the Miami Heat this offseason.

While the 2024-25 season with the Suns (36-46) didn't go as planned, he ended the season on a high note. He averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists.

Kevin Durant’s preferred destination revealed by league insider

According to ESPN insider Shams Charania, Kevin Durant has preferred destinations next season. The Miami Heat, the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets are the teams the 17-year veteran would be interested in if he left the Suns.

Durant has an expiring $54.7 million contract for the 2025-26 season. Although he is expected to sign a long-term extension with his new team, the Suns have made it clear they will prioritize making the best deal for the franchise, even if it means trading Durant to a team outside his preferred list.

Teams hoping to sign Kevin Durant would bear in mind his complicated contract situation. He has the potential for a two-year extension worth $122 million if signed by July 6 or up to $124 million if signed six months after the trade.
