Carlos Alcaraz puts an end to Ibiza vacation, confirms schedule on grass after French Open glory

Carlos Alcaraz’s hectic clay swing concluded with a successful title defense at the French Open 2025. He beat World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in a nail-biting finish to the match, even saving three championship points in the process. Since hoisting the winner’s trophy on Sunday (June 8), he has been unwinding in Ibiza.

After five days of relaxation, Alcaraz is ready to dive headfirst into tennis once again. As confirmed by Eurosport Spain, he will arrive in London on Saturday (June 14) for his first tournament of the grass swing, the HSBC Championships at Queen’s Club. It will be his only tournament in the lead-up to Wimbledon, where he’s the two-time defending champion.

The young Spaniard hasn’t touched his racket since his French Open triumph. While initially there were some doubts regarding his appearance at Queen’s Club in light of his intense fortnight in Paris, he is feeling refreshed after his vacation in Ibiza and eager to continue his good run of form.

This will be Alcaraz's third appearance at Queen's Club, where he emerged victorious on his tournament debut in 2023. He will be keen to get back into the winner's circle once again after an early exit last year.

Carlos Alcaraz has quickly established himself as one of the leading grass court players of his generation. His first tournament on the surface was also the most prestigious on the tour, Wimbledon. He bowed out in the second round on his debut in 2021 but went a couple of rounds further the following year.

Alcaraz played his first tournament on grass outside of Wimbledon at Queen's Club in 2023. He walked away as the champion, capturing his first title on the surface. He didn't have to wait too long to secure his next title on grass. He beat four-time defending champion Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final that year to claim his second Major title.

The 22-year-old returned to Queen's Club once again last year but couldn't defend his crown, crashing out in the second round. He didn't let the loss affect him and beat Djokovic once again in the Wimbledon final a few weeks later. He has a 24-3 record on grass since his debut in 2021.

Alcaraz will be keen to maintain his supremacy on grass this year as well. He will arrive at Queen's Club on a 13-match winning streak, thanks to his title-winning runs at the Italian Open and the French Open. The HSBC Championships at Queen's Club will take place from June 16-22. He will contest his first-round match either on Monday (June 16) or Tuesday (June 17).
