Aryna Sabalenka ends romantic vacation with boyfriend Georgios, catches up with best friend Paula Badosa after French Open heartbreak

Aryna Sabalenka’s idyllic vacation in Greece with boyfriend Georgios Frangulis has come to an end. The Belarusian has now arrived in Germany for this year’s Berlin Ladies Open, where she caught up with Paula Badosa, one of her best friends on the WTA Tour.

On Saturday, June 7, Sabalenka experienced heartbreak in the women’s singles final of the 2025 French Open. The reigning World No. 1 had established a set lead over Coco Gauff. However, the American’s never-say-die attitude, coupled with the Belarusian’s erratic performance, resulted in Gauff pipping the three-time Major champion to the title.

Following the chastening result, Aryna Sabalenka headed to Greece with boyfriend Georgios Frangulis for a reset. Recently, Frangulis took to his Instagram Stories to share a seaside view from Greece, with the post also featuring the Belarusian sticking her tongue out.

"Fav view," Sabalenka's boyfriend captioned the post.

Later, Sabalenka posted a picture of herself in Berlin along with bestie Paula Badosa on her Instagram Stories. The Belarusian and the Spaniard are both in Berlin for this year's Berlin Ladies Open, a WTA 500 grasscourt event in the buildup to this year's Wimbledon Championships.

Aryna Sabalenka faced Anna Kalinskaya for a place in the last four of the 2024 Berlin Ladies Open. Kalinskaya established a 5-1 lead in the quarterfinal clash before the Belarusian decided to retire from the contest, citing shoulder pain. Remarkably, it marked the first mid-match retirement of Sabalenka's career.

The shoulder problem would eventually go on to affect her participation at last year's Wimbledon Championships. She confirmed her withdrawal from the grasscourt Major via a social media post.

"Heartbroken to have to tell you all that I won't be able to play The Championships this year. I tried everything to get myself ready but unfortunately my shoulder is not cooperating," Sabalenka's post read.

So far this year, Aryna Sabalenka has a 40-7 win-loss record and three title triumphs across the Brisbane International, Miami Open, and Madrid Open.
