On Sunday, the Indiana Pacers looked to secure a stranglehold on the NBA Finals in Game 2 against the OKC Thunder. Unlike in Game 1, where the Pacers opened the series with a spate of errors, the visiting team settled in quickly in the rematch. Balanced scoring and solid defensive work kept Indiana within 26-20.

Chet Holmgren got off to a hot start after the off night in Game 1. He had nine points, two rebounds and one block in nine minutes. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander contributed six points, three assists and two rebounds.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored to push OKC’s lead to 52-29 before Pascal Siakam led a 9-0 run to force the Thunder to a timeout. Following the brief ceasefire, SGA made a layup before Alex Caruso nailed a 25-footer to give Oklahoma a 57-39 advantage. OKC entered the halftime break holding on to a 59-41 lead.

The Indiana Pacers offense hummed in the third quarter, scoring 33 points after making 41 in the first half. Aaron Nesmith and Myles Turner kept their team in the game with 19 points combined. The OKC Thunder leaned on multiple contributors to lead 93-74 after three quarters.

Unlike in Game 1, the Thunder did not fold in the fourth quarter. Tyrese Haliburton, who had five points leading into the fourth quarter, came alive in the final frame with 12. Still, Haliburton's surge came a little too late, which helped Oklahoma cruise to a 123-107 win.
