Jalen Williams takes friendly shots at Alex Caruso’s defense – “I’d be frying AC so I don’t really know”

Caruso has been one of the best defenders in the playoffs this year. His physical and smart defending caused many problems for the Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves. He has also done an incredible job against the Pacers through two NBA Finals games.

Meanwhile, Jalen Williams has had it rough through his first two games against Indiana. He recorded 17 points on 6-for-19 shooting in Game 1. In Game 2, he had 19 points on 5-for-14 shooting. While he has struggled to score, Williams has found other ways to contribute and is averaging 5.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds.

With their win in Game 2, OKC has tied the NBA Finals at 1-1. The Indiana Pacers will host the Game 3 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday.

"Dub’s a very confident individual": Alex Caruso replies to Jalen Williams' hilarious remarks about his defense

Alex Caruso responded with humility after reporters informed him of Jalen Williams' comments about his defense. He said that being signed to an NBA team has decreased his intensity in practice.

"Dub is just a very confident individual," Caruso said. "I’m not the best practice player. Once I made an NBA roster and signed a contract, my intensity in practice dropped a little bit."

Caruso might not be intense in practice, but he shows up when it matters most. He was one of OKC's most efficient players in Game 2, finishing with 20 points on 6-for-11 shooting. None of the other players, except Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, crossed 20+ points.

Meanwhile, the Pacers had it worse, with Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner being the only players to record 15+ points. Whatever Alex Caruso lacks in size, he more than makes up for with his intensity on defense.

As Williams mentioned, he is quick with his hands and feet and also plays smart on defense. He is also very hard to screen, making him a matchup nightmare for most teams.
